Functional Interval Training

What is FIT?

This is a bootcamp style class that is designed to increase endurance and strength simultaneously. The workouts are high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that includes dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight movements and cardio. The programming is always varied, just like your life. Our expert coaches will take you through from start to finish to ensure the results you want.

Member Story

Meet Kristina

I joined Chic's Beach CrossFit in 2018 shortly after my first 50k effort. I had just started my journey into long distance running and wanted to improve upon my strength and endurance. I found a cross training home in their FIT classes. These classes helped me prepare for the physical demands of ultra-running by building my physical strength as well as increasing my cardiovascular capability. I felt more confident about entering races that presented more elevation as well as tougher conditions, and I felt stronger than I had before in the latter miles of races. Not only has this gym improved my physical health, but it has also given me so many personal connections. One of my favorite connections from the gym actually became a running buddy. We met in FIT class and have since shared many miles together outside the gym. She was there to help crew and pace me to my first 100 mile race finish.

Running long miles and training can be a very solitary effort so it is nice to be able to spend time at a gym that provides supportive coaching as well as a sense of community. Since joining the gym, I have gone on to complete two 100 mile races, four 50 mile efforts, and fourteen more 50ks. I hope to add to my resume in 2022 by completing my 3rd 100 mile race, a 40 mile race at elevation in West Virginia, and a few more 50ks. I will continue to train at Chic's Beach CrossFit, and I am confident that this will help me to achieve my goals.
