Head Coach
From a young age I participated in organized sports and have always enjoyed being active. After playing basketball, softball and field hockey in high school; I had the privilege of playing field hockey at Longwood College. Once I graduated, I got married and started teaching HS Math and coaching basketball at a local high school. It wasn’t long after that I started having kids and found myself not making time to workout anymore.
Finally after I had my 4th child I found CrossFit and I fell in love with it. I was able to feel likeI was part of a “team” again and also let the competitive side of me out! I soon realized I wanted to coach. I am very passionate about what I do and I wanted to share that with others! I love helping others find joy and success in working out! It’s my goal to help them feel good about themselves when they walk out that door!

I was never much into fitness growing up. My parents encouraged me to play basketball because of my height, but I never really enjoyed it. In college I developed an unhealthy lifestyle and I knew I had to change my habits. I didn’t like going to the gym and I yo-yo dieted for years which caused a lot of unhealthy habits and mental health. After finding CrossFit and Olympic lifting I found something that made me feel strong and empowered.
I’ve continued to grow my fitness and coaching knowledge over the course of seven years and even though I may not be at the top of the leaderboard, I found my happiness in helping others achieve their goals and find their inner strength. I know the struggles that starting new life habits can bring and I carry that with me in my coaching

My name is Brandon and changing people’s lives through fitness is a passion of mine. I have served in the Navy for 9 and a half years. I have been doing CrossFit since 2016 and it changed my life for the best. I recently completed my CFL2 in 2020. I have a corgi named Nanaki that is usually with me at the gym helping to cheer you on!

My name is Chris. I moved to Virginia Beach in 2015 when I joined the Navy. I have been doing CrossFit since 2011. Prior to that I went to Quinnipiac University where I got an Undergraduate in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Business. During my time as a Quinnipiac Bobcat I got the opportunity to play and captain with their NCAA Division 1 program. I started at Chic’s Beach CrossFit around 2017. If you come to one of my classes you’ll see a Red Lab (Coach Oakley), he’s my assistant coach and won’t hesitate to count your reps! Hope to see y’all at the gym!

Name is Josh. Have been a PTA for 6.5 years. Worked as a personal trainer for 5 years. Favorite sport(s) are Wrestling (the real kind LOL) and Football (American). Favorite college team is Ohio State (in all sports), favorite professional team is the New England Patriots, and favorite individual athlete is Jordan Burroughs. I played 6 sports growing up. I am married with a son, and now a daughter on the way! I love working out, playing video games, watching movies, taking a long nap, hiking, riding bikes, swimming, beach volleyball, or anything else involving fun outside.
I started at Chic’s Beach CrossFit in 2020 and instantly felt right at home. The great coaching and energizing atmosphere has helped me improve my fitness, and also improve my lifting/gymnastics skills!
Fun fact: I once got to wrestle with Olympic bronze medalist Coleman Scott.
